Miss Porter’s School (Porter’s) is beaming with excitement as we announce that our incredible Flik Independent School Dining (FISD) team, led by the ever-committed Leanne Evangelist, has been honored with the prestigious Be A Star award by FISD, a division of the global foodservice powerhouse Compass Group.
What makes this award so unique? The Be A Star award is not just any accolade—it’s a recognition bestowed upon only one out of 315 schools across 35 states, including Hawaii, that continuously demonstrates exceptional operational excellence. This esteemed honor reflects the team’s steadfast dedication to delivering outstanding food, providing unparalleled service, and ensuring the safety of our dining environments while upholding a strong commitment to our community.
The momentous news was shared with Leanne and her team in front of the entire FISD company, who participated virtually. Our entire Porter’s Flik dining team was further honored during the Porter’s Years of Service luncheon, where they were recognized by school faculty and staff. It was a moment of immense pride for all of us—a testament to the strong bonds and shared achievements within our broader community.
The celebration continues in November when Leanne will travel to Orlando to represent Porter’s at the annual Compass Night of Stars. There, she will graciously accept this well-deserved award on behalf of our team, marking yet another proud chapter in our school’s history.
