Just 17 hours later, she ran in the Apple Harvest 5K as part of the Porter’s Cure Crew, finishing 129th out of nearly 800 participants and placing 39th among all female runners with a personal record of 25:25. We are incredibly proud of her determination and strong finishes in both races. Congratulations to Yulisa Ma!

Field Hockey

This athlete is new to the field hockey program, but she has quickly become one of the most critical players on the JV team. A quintessential midfielder, she possesses the vision, versatility and stamina to somehow see everything and be everywhere she’s needed. She’s a literal game changer. This athlete flies like Hermes across the turf. Her drives leave other teams trembling. She tackles and jabs and blocks opponents into submission. She has shown remarkable leadership during lean times, keeping the team competitive and focused when key players were in Costa Rica or sidelined due to injury or illness. And on Oct. 9, 2024, a day that will live in jubilation, this tenacious midi scored the winning goal in a nail-biting match against Hopkins, bringing the JV field hockey team’s long drought to an end. This athlete of the week is none other than Eliza Fausel!
