With climate change wreaking havoc, stark racial and socioeconomic inequalities mounting and the rights of girls and women being threatened, the institutions that govern our world are failing to solve these pressing problems.
Moments of upheaval and disruption provide opportunities to enact change, and we need young women to lead this change.
The time is now!

Lead the Change with us
Through our ChangeMaker’s Institute, Porter’s Center for Global Leadership provides virtual opportunities for high school girls to develop the knowledge and skills necessary to be effective catalysts for change in their communities and beyond. Our participants strive to create a more just and equitable future as they transform their passion and thoughts into action. We offer a series of courses, including a year-long change-making fellowship, that culminates in a ChangeMaker’s Certificate. Students can opt to enroll in one course or to pursue the Certificate.
Currently Accepting Applications for Change-Maker’s 101: The Basics of ChangeMaking
In this 101 course, students will learn the foundation of the social change sector and begin to understand systems of oppression and the power of consensus-building and collective impact. Over the course of seven weeks, participants will work in small groups, with peers from around the world while being led by expert facilitators who work in the social impact sector. They will be guided through a process of reflecting on the systems of oppression that surround us and the ways that people attempt to create change, eventually determining what they think is the most effective approach to change-making and how it can be applied to their own communities.
Young women (age 14-18, who are passionate about building a more just and equitable future, should join us!
